The Courts and The Community: An Educational Series for the Public In-Person

Led by judges and lawyers, this workshop will facilitate interactive conversations about the rule of law, the courts, and the Constitution. Participation is free and open to any member of the community—no prior experience or education required. Below are the topics for each session:

2/4: Introduction to Federal Courts and the Rule of Law

2/18: Structure of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights
- Presented by Judges Susan Schwab and additional presenters
3/4: Immigration Law
- Presented by Judges Sean Camoni and additional presenters
3/18: Federal Criminal Law
- Presented by Judge Malachy Mannion and additional presenters
4/1: Civil Rights Litigation
- Presented by Chief Judge Matthew Brann and additional presenters
4/15: How Judges Decide (hosted at 1 Courthouse Square)
- Presented by Judges Karoline Mehalchick and Jennifer Wilson and two Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas judges
