Challenges to the American Media: A Veteran Journalist's Perspective In-Person
Freedom of the press is very much in jeopardy. And so is democracy. A free society depends on a free and unfettered press as a watchdog on government. It also depends on the American people to seek out truth and reject disinformation. We have seen serious erosion in trust of the mainstream media and in the willingness of others to accept facts that counter their world views. All of this represents serious challenges for the American media and for American democracy. Ms. Joyce Davis, Opinion Editor for PennLive and the Patriot-News, brings her decades of experience in international journalism into the conversation. Come with open eyes and ears. Sponsored by the American Association of University Women.
